Every cheap RH sensor drifts. A salt test will tell you by how much, and that is genuinely useful with any gauge, but on five of these six the test ends with you writing a number on tape and doing mental arithmetic every time you look at the display. Living with the SMARTRO SC42
Run the salt test before the first hatch, not during it. Half a bottle cap of table salt, a few drops of water to make a slurry, both sealed in a zip bag for six to eight hours at steady room temperature, then adjust.

Why the IncuTherm Plus earns its place
It solves the problem that quietly ruins most humidity readings.
If the gauge is inside a sealed box, checking it means opening the box. The moment you do, the humid air leaves, room air comes in, and the number you then read describes the disturbance rather than the incubator. People take that reading, adjust the water tray on the strength of it, and end up chasing a value they created themselves.
